The title, taken from a poem by John Milton, in which it refers to dancing lightly with extravagance. The events of the novel are a direct continuation of those in the preceding book, The Colour of Magic.

This feels coherent and raises the serious topics such as that one of fascism and fanaticism which are so often treated by Pratchett. Lovely parting with Twoflower and amazing outro. Hooked me hard on the wizards stories.

J’ai beaucoup aimé Le Huitième sortilège. Contrairement au tome précédent que j’avais trouvé un peu bancal, ici l’action est bien mieux dosée et le dénouement de cet arc "Rincevent" tient la route.
